Research and Scholarship
Many curators in UK museums carry out research on their collections from Egypt and Sudan. In addition, scholars and students from the UK and from all over the world use objects in UK collections for their research. This research leads not only to scholarly publications, but also to new displays and exhibitions, on-line catalogues and archival records and popular media coverage. For example, the British Museum has embarked on a project to conserve, translate and study more than 100 papyri from the Ramesseum area at Thebes.
