Funds for workshops

Good news: MLA have approved the application put together by Margaret Serpico for funding a workshop in four different regions on topics of ACCES’s choice between now and April 2008. Margaret deserves yet more thanks for this success, as the workshop funding is a wonderful opportunity to see whether ACCES can improve our lives and link collections more strongly.
Purpose of the workshop project :
ACCES proposes regionally-based workshops on ‘Partnership through Collections’, to cement long-term relationships between specialists and non-specialist curators, encouraging discussion and promoting exchange. They will address topics under these generic themes:
- best practice in managing collections maximising new opportunities (redisplays, regional impact of national but locally-anchored events as 2012 Olympics),
- increasing and enhancing all user engagement,
- best practice in developing, preserving and sharing specialist knowledge on collections.
News on topics, venues and dates will follow later in May 2007.
