The photographs of R. St. A. Heathcote in the Griffith Institute, Oxford Reginald St. Alban Heathcote (1888-1951) was Professor of Pharmacology at Cairo University between 1922 and 1933. During his stay in Egypt he became interested in modern as well as ancient Egypt and took a large number of remarkable black-and-white photographs. Some 2,500 of these are in the Archive of the Griffith Institute in Oxford. A selection of them can be seen in the form of a database on the Institute’s website (click here).
